ABOUT OUR DOJO

The River Valley Aikido Club has been practicing in Brattleboro, Vermont since 1992. We are a not-for-profit club. The responsibilities of membership include coming to regular practice and keeping up with dues which go solely for expenses.

The River Valley Aikido Club is a member dojo of the Aikido Schools of Ueshiba, an international federation of more than 70 dojos. Mitsugi Saotome Shihan, a personal disciple of O-Sensei, is the master instructor for the ASU. The ASU is affiliated with the world Aikido Headquarters in Tokyo, Japan.

We also operate under the sponsorship and guidance of the Bond Street Dojo in New York City.

Although we a grateful for our direct affiliations we share a strong connection and tradition with Aikido dojos everywhere and make a point of honoring and welcoming Aikido practitioners from all organizations.
