WEEKEND OF OCTOBER 14, 15, 16

The theme for this weekend will reprise the theme from the Santa Cruz Aikido Summer Retreat “Opening the Stone Door”. This phrase refers to the ancient Japanese myth concerning the Sun Goddess Amaterasu who withdrew her radiance form the world by retreating to a cave. Eventually the other deities gathered together and drew her out by performing a beguiling dance. The Stone Door opened and light returned to the world. O-Sensei described Aikido as the “Second Opening of the Stone Door”. Exploring this theme at the Santa Cruz retreat turned out to be such an inspiring experience for so many of the participants that Mary thought it would worthwhile to deepen this exploration during the Brattleboro seminar.

This annual seminar is both small and intimate so that each person has the maximum opportunity to receive the benefit of Mary’s unique and insightful teaching. Anyone wishing to both broaden and deepen their Aikido practice should consider attending this seminar.

The weekend will fill up quickly so anyone wanting to attend should register as soon as possible.
